| CCPIT Chairman's Messsage The 1st China-Latin America Business Summit is to be convened in Santiago, Chile on Nov.27th, 2007. It will be an event of great significance in the history of the economic and trade cooperation between China and Latin America. Ever since embarking on the road of reform and opening-up in 1978, China’s economy has maintained double-digit annual growth rate in the past two and a half decades. China’s aggregate economic strength ranked the 4th place in the world by 2006. China’s total import and export volume surpassed 1.76 trillion US dollars, while bilateral trade between China and Latin America valued at 70.22 billion US dollars. As is known, with China’s robust economic development, Sino-Latin American economic and trade relations also flourishes into full blossom.
