| Chairman Wan Jifei signs "Memorandum of Cooperation” with Mayor of Nanjing Jiang Hongkun | | 05/05/2009 08:43:25 | On April 28, Chairman Wan Jifei met with Mayor of Nanjing Jiang Hongkun, Vice-mayor Wang Shouwen and the delegation; the two sides signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation".
Chairman Wan firstly had a brief meeting with Mayor Jiang Hongkun. Both sides exchanged information on recent cooperation between CCPIT and People's Government of Nanjing on the promotion of foreign trade and investment, especially Taiwan Brands Fair on September 18, this year in Nanjing, by now there are more than 1,800 participating merchants’ applications. Mayor Jiang expressed his thanks to Chairman Wan for the strong support and guidance on the Outsourcing General Assembly, the Financial Services Expo, as well as outdoor exhibition in Asia. In recent years, the Nanjing Government was committed to the development of new energy, new light source, software and other high-tech industries as well as the Exhibition Economy, continually exploring, enhancing and creating the characteristics of Nanjing and the development of modern service industry. Mayor Jiang would like to develop down-to-earth Nanjing Exhibition industry under the support of CCPIT, and not live up to the support and concern of CCPIT. Mayor Jiang Hongkun also hopes to make good use of resources of CCPIT to upgrade the industrial level of Nanjing, accelerate industrial upgrading, and expand the focus areas & international cooperation of key projects. Chairman Wan said he was pleased to see the rapid development of exhibition industry of Nanjing, and hoped to strengthen the cooperation with Nanjing Government and jointly promote the rapid and healthy development of exhibition industry, and thus promote the development of modern service industry. Chairman Wan stressed that the economic development of Nanjing is of strategic importance to promoting the development of the surrounding cities, CCPIT will continue to support the development of high-end industry and modern service industry of Nanjing. Finally, Chairman Wan appreciated Nanjing Municipal Government for attaching great importance and support to the work of CCPIT, and hoped that the signing of "Memorandum of Cooperation “ could push bilateral cooperation to a higher level.
According to " Memorandum of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Nanjing People's Government on strengthening cooperation, promoting investment and international exchange activities", the two sides will strengthen cooperation on the expansion of international economic and trade activities, the introduction of high-end foreign investment projects, the development of professional conferences and exhibitions, information exchange, legal services, the publicity and so on.
Both sides agreed that with the deepening of economic globalization, taking full advantage of international and domestic markets, grasping opportunities for development, creating a favorable environment of opening to the outside world & foreign trade and economic development plays an important role for the promotion of local economic development. To achieve this, the two sides will further integrate the advantages of resources, innovative modes of cooperation, and establish a long-term cooperation mechanism, making positive efforts to achieve a win-win situation.
