Pic2: More than six hundred business delegates from both sides attend the forum

April 2, Dong Songgen attended the China- the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in Shanghai, co-sponsored by CCPIT and Shanghai municipality. Senior officials from both sides attended the opening ceremony, including the visiting vice president and premier of the UAE and chief of Dubai Mohammed, president of UAE Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai Deputy Mayor Tang Dengjie, and UAC Minister of Foreign Trade. More than six hundred delegates from both sides attended the forum.

Dong indicated in his speech that the UAE is the most dynamic economy in the Middle East. The two sides are complementary in terms of economic structure, which means great potential for bilateral cooperation. For the past few years, achievements have been made in bilateral cooperation in fields like commerce, energy and infrastructure construction. CCPIT has been working hard to promote trade and cooperation between China and the rest of the world, including the Arabian area. Two sessions of bilateral entrepreneur meetings have been held to facilitate exchanges and cooperation. A variety of services such as exhibition, mediation, information exchange and legal consulting have been provided for bilateral exchanges. CCPIT will be working towards better understanding and better services.

 At the opening ceremony, Dong Songgen, Tang Dengjie and Premier Mohamed witnessed together the signing ceremony of China-UAE cooperation agreement. Dong Songgen got interviewed by Shanghai TV in terms of furthering exchanges, bettering understanding and promoting economic cooperation.

Top officials gave speeches at the ceremony, including president of UAE Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai Deputy Mayor Tang Dengjie, and UAC Minister of Foreign Trade.     

After the ceremony, Dong attended the meeting between Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng and Vice President Mohammad.
