On August 30, China-Fiji Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar & Enterprise Matchmaking Meeting was held in CCPIT, which was co-sponsored by CCPIT and Fiji Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Investment and Communication. CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Wei and Fiji Minister of Commerce, Industry, Investment and Communication attended the meeting and made speeches. More than 100 enterprise representatives from the two country were present.
In his speech, Zhang Wei said that CCPIT has been dedicated to facilitating China-Fiji trade and economic cooperation as China’s largest trade promotion institution. In last year’s Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation between CCPIT and Fiji Chamber of Commerce, the two sides agreed to enhance mutual understanding and to facilitate bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Zhang also underlined the fact that there remains much to do in bilateral cooperation. With joint efforts from public and private sectors of both sides, the bilateral trade and investment as well as economic cooperation will gain its momentum even stronger.
The minister from Fiji has in his speech briefed on latest development in his country, covering Fiji’s political environment, open market system and favorable investment environment. He spoke highly of economy growth in China during the past two decades, saying that Fiji will spare no effort in facilitating bilateral exchange and cooperation.
At the meeting, video clips have presented the investment environment and opportunities in Fiji. After the seminar, entrepreneurs from the two sides held match-making business talks, bringing this bilateral meeting to a fruitful end. |
