August 31 marked the completion of the new CCOIC Building. CCPIT Deputy Secretary-General Xu Hubin chaired the completion ceremony, attended by CCPIT leaders, Chairman Wan Jifei and Vice Chairman Yu Ping, as well as retired leaders, former Chairmen Yu Xiaosong and Zheng Hongye.

Wan Jifei has in his speech expressed congratulations to the completion and greetings to all involved in the construction.

Wan concluded that the successful completion of CCOIC Building has been attributed to the hard work and cooperation within the council. This new building will not only home the dispersed sub-councils and departments together, but also build a better public image of CCOIC. The completion marked both the end of the construction and the beginning of another round of constructive reform.

Wan also warned all the council members of possible rashness and arrogance, urging everybody to make better use of the new building. CCPIT/CCOIC should build upon its achievements and present a better record to the 17^th CPC National Congress.

 Together with CCPIT former Chairmen Yu Xiaosong and Zheng Hongye, Wan Jifei cut the ribbon to announce the completion.

On behalf of construction force, property management and resident respectively, Chen Ping, GM of China Trade Properties Ltd., Gu Chao, Vice Director of CCPIT Service Center, and Wu Dajian, GM of China Patent Agency (HK) made speeches at the ceremony.

The new CCOIC Building is located in the northeast of the Xizhimen Overpass, marking the beginning of the west North Second Ring. It is opposite to the China Aluminum Building in the north, and next to the West Ring Square in the west. Covering a construction area of 30,000 square meters, this edifice has 16 floors plus 3 floors underground. This 68.4-meter high building will cater to its residents with standard offices, registration office, arbitration office, banks, business center, ticket office, coffee bar, teahouse, staff cafe, convenience stores, archives, underground Garage and so on.

This building was started in August 2005, capped on June 28, 2006, and completed on August 31, 2007. During its two-year construction, Wan Jifei visited the venue for nine times, giving instructions by himself.

Now a property management office has been set up to manage this building. Duan Zhiqiang, Director of CCPIT Service Center, is now head of the residing committee. This committee is doing its best to facilitate the residing of the Representative Office of China Patent Agency (HK), CIETAC, CCPIT Legal Department and CCOIC.
