3. Conference Venue
Opening ceremony and plenary sessions (May 16th) will be held at Grand Ballroom 2+3 (F2). Seminar on Mining and Resources (May 17th’s morning) will be held at Grand Ballroom 3 (F2), Seminar on Cereal and Edible Oil Equipment and Machinery (May 17th’s morning) will be held at Grand Ballroom 2 (F2), Seminar on Electricity Industry (May 17th’s morning) will be held at Beijing Room (F3), and Seminar on Investing in Canada (May 17th’s afternoon) will be held at Grand Ballroom 2 (F2).
4. Dinner
Dinner will be held at Grand Ballroom (F2) at 18:30-20:30 on May 16th, and half an hour prior to the dinner (18:00-18:30) is for networking at the Ballroom foyer (F2). Badges / invitations and formal attire are kindly requested.
5. Networking Buffets
Buffet of May 16th will be available at 12:25~13:30 at Grand Ballroom 1 (F2) and Kowloon Ballroom (F4). Blue coupons will be only accepted at Grand Ballroom 1 (F2), and yellow coupons will be only accepted at Kowloon Ballroom (F4).
Buffet of May 17th will be available at 12:00~13:30 at Grand Ballroom 1 (F2) for attendee with Green coupons.
Coupons of different colors will be delivered at random in your badge kit. Please note the validity date on your coupons.
6. Badges
Badges will be delivered upon your registration, and attendees with them will have access to all official sessions and functions.

7. Languages and Interpretation
The conference working languages are Chinese and English, and simultaneous interpretation (SI) for both languages will be provided for plenary sessions and concurrent seminars (except the Seminar on Electricity Industry). You will be notified of SI headset usage before the conference.
SI headsets will be available at conference entrance, and they will be collected at the end of each session. Your ID or passport will be kindly requested for the headsets.

9. Useful Information in Beijing
A. Time Difference
China is in one time zone – Beijing Time (GMT+ 8 hours).
B. Currency and Bank Service
China’s currency is known as RMB. Most internationally-accepted currencies and traveler’s checks can be converted at banks, hotels and international airports. Banks open daily at 09:00~17:00. Credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shopping centers. Some credit cards can be accepted on Bank of China’s ATMs. Exchange rate between U.S. dollar and RMB is approximately USD 1.00 = RMB 7.70.
C. Working Hours
Most business organizations are open at 09:00 – 18:00, government departments at 08:00 – 17:00, and banks at 09:00 – 17:00. Working week runs from Monday to Friday. Many stores stay open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
D. Electricity
Voltage in China is 220v, 50 hertz. Hotels can provide separate sockets (with 110~220 volts supply) for electric razors.
E. Postal Service
Post offices open daily at 09:00~17:30. Stamps can be bought in post offices and some stores.
F. Mobile Phone Network
Cellular phones are widely used in China. The following networks are available: GSM, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 Mhz and CDMA.
H. Taxi
The rate is 2.00 RMB yuan / km plus a starting rate of 10.00 RMB yuan. |
